Join Candace Soderberg and Lisa Sturt for a yoga retreat in the wake of the fall equinox. An opportunity to take pause from the daily grind, and explore what is quietly unfolding within yourself. Visiting from Canada, Lisa and Candace have been dedicated yoga teachers and students for many years. In this retreat they blend their unique teaching styles to offer an experience that feels safe and supportive, while encouraging transformation and growth from within.
Our retreat will include two yoga classes daily, optional journaling and meditation. Three daily meals with the exception of one dinner, local wine tasting and a guided day trek. Leaving space for you to rest or explore as you see fit. Open to all levels of yoga, no experience necessary.
About the hosts:
Candace Soderberg: Candace is a cultivator. She is dedicated to creating spaces and shaping communities. She moves through the world with a lightness that belies her strength and resilience; behind her unfaltering smile and quiet graceful way is a sharp mind and dedicated spirit. Her strong, skillful Vinyasa based classes in their reverence to alignment principles and traditional philosophies, reflect this grace and dedication to the practice and her community.
She completed her first 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2013 with Randelle Lusk, who gave her a solid foundation in the anatomy and philosophy of the practice, as well as imparting a rare kind of creative and free flowing Vinyasa sequencing style that is still a prominent thread of her classes today. She completed her 500 hour under Janet Stone, and has also trained extensively with Ryan Leier, Srivatsa Ramaswami, and Tiffany Cruishank.
She opened Cornerstone Yoga Collective in 2017. Founded on the notion of community, Cornerstone encourages the free expression of its teachers and the unique unfurling inner journey of each and every student. It is a space which reflects in its very foundations the creativity, dedication, and simple grace Candace brings to all aspects of her life.
Lisa Sturt: Lisa treads lightly and speaks softly, but her ability to hold powerful, transformative space is deep and potent. She’s like breath, moving effortlessly, working the subtle strings that pour shape and animation into life itself. Her classes are hushed and dim; she has a taste for fine, mellow music. It is her nature to create beautiful, peaceful spaces where one can practice reverence to the quieter aspects of the moving body and the flowing breath.
She completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2013 with Randelle Lusk, who provided her with a firm foundation in the philosophy and anatomy of the practice, as well as a lovely grasp of the kind of creative and functional sequencing you rarely see. She has since trained extensively with Eoin Finn and taken multiple trainings with Carolyn Budgell, including breathwork and meditation, which have allowed her to gradually spread into new and vulnerable territory.
Still central to her teaching is her unique ability to create loving space. But, urged to guide her classes from a more robust and honest heart, she has cultivated a deep intent to form authentic connections with her students, as well as facilitate their connections to each other, and the broader world. All this, in true Lisa style, humbly, quietly and with much grace.
