Domaine de Mournac is based in Southern France, and by this we mean really South, so that we are very close to the border with Spain on the Mediterranean coast side. We are just on the edge of the Pyrenees mountains which divide Spain and France. This means when you come to visit us you may well be visiting an area completely new to you, and also a bit of a hidden secret to the rest of the world – special hey? More than your average yoga retreat in France!

If you arrive in Toulouse or Carcassonne, you head South and eventually follow the river Aude as it climbs through the mountains. Expect dramatic scenery on your transfer!

Mysteries in France

Those in search of history will love the fact that you are staying an a 12th century former coach house, right next to ancient bridleways & paths. Just imagine all the feet & hooves that have walked here before you…

Those in search of mystery & intrigue, be sure to schedule a visit to Rennes-le-Chateau and the several sights with links to Mary Magdelene. Many believe that this region of France was part of the sacred trail Mary (maybe even with Jesus) made across Europe. Whatever your belief system, the beautiful fountains, caves & ruins hold a special ambience and are well worthy of investigation.

Food & wine lovers will love to visit the nearby Sunday market at Esperaza. You can sample local foods, cheeses, meats & of course seasonal produce. Buy artisan gifts to take back with you, even refresh your crystal selection from the several experts on hand.

A visit to this region would not be complete without taking time to learn how Blanquette and Cremant de Limoux are made, and of course to sample the output directly on our doorstep. We work with our local winemaker Domaine Delmas and can offer you bespoke tours of the Vineyards, Production & finishing with a tasting. You will wonder why you ever drank Champagne in the first place!
